Overheating engine?

Hello,
I have a 2005 Mazda RX-8 and have the following issue: when I drive in a stop-and-go traffic my car dies on me. First I start losing power, the car won't accelerate as fast as it should, then it kind of starts vibrating and then dies. It only seems to happen when it's hot weather outside. When I pop the hood and let it cool off for a bit, it barely starts and I am able to drive (not for very long). I tried taking it to the dealership but they can't figure it out. The diagnostic shows no bad codes. I appericate any opinions. Thanks!

ur dealership just tried to pull codes ? Tell them do the compression and Vacuum test.

And have them to check for clogged Catalyst converter too.

nycgps, thank you for your reply!
I am not sure if the did the compression and vacuum tests but they did replace the catalytic converter and that didn't help

Print out this TSB and show it to them. Personally, I wouldn't be optimistic that decarbon process will solve you're problem, but they should have done this:

Eventually, they may have to replace your engine but if they're not more on the ball take it to another dealer.
