Parking light and fog light question
I've been looking through a bunch of threads about changing the parking and fog lights and cannot quite narrow down what I need to know. I'm basically looking to go brighter, and I'm assuming autozone or advanced auto will have brighter replacement bulbs so I was planning on going there for them. Now, will going for a brighter bulb need any rewiring or adding a resistor? I guess LED is the way to go but I wouldn't be apposed to buying more powerful filament bulbs. I was hoping it would be as simple as just replacing a bulb and nothing to involved. I'm debating if it's worth it or not and if there is any risks of shorting things out or causing any electrical problems by changing for higher output bulbs. I see mention of VLEDs in alot of threads about changing for LED's, but I was hoping on a local buy instead of ordering.

parking light bulbs you can replace with LEDs and that isn't a big deal. It will give you the brightness you desire, and since the p-light is more of a marker than it is a light that produces road visibility, there are no ill effects.
My comment was more geared towards replacing the fog lights with LED lights.

For the parking lights I might just get a regular bulb, what are the rule of thumbs for upgrading to a brighter incandescent bulb? Match the wattage? Go higher wattage? I just see a lot of probs with the LEDs, don't want to deal with any problems. But just incase when looking at LEDs for the parking lamps, what wattage do I get?

There is no problem with running LEDs as long as you know what you are doing. There are QUALITY LEDs light out there that requires no resistor so you can even run it at turn signal light without causing issues.
if it's within spec, there is no brighter incandescent bulb, for example, a 194 bulb's lumems will always be low that's less than 100 or 50 I don't remember.
so don't believe in whatever marketing crap they wants u to believe.
