Passenger seat height/angle

I saw one post on this a while ago, but it not get much response.
Does anyone else get complaints from passengers about the inability to get comfortable in the passenger seat?
My wife hates to ride in my RX8 because she can't find a good position for her legs.
I tried it and she is right, the seat height is to low (Close to the floor) and so you sit with your legs out straight with no knee bend. This causes the knees to hurt after a while.
What would help is the front of the seat raised up so slightly. I messed around under the seat to see if it could be lifted, and yes it can.
There are two 12mm bolts holding the front of the seat to and angle bracket. I removed these bolts, put in 4 washers gaining about 1/2" and put the bolts back in (Still plently of thread left).
This small amount of tilt makes quite a bit of difference, much more comfortable.
Question is - is this still safe, and are there any other options like after-market seats with adjustments.
Opinions, comments ??
