Please HELP HELP HELP

I removed my air pump last night and the car started to act funny. The engine revs down and turned off by itself. I put the air pump back but still having the same problem. I disconnected the battery so maybe I could reset the computer but nothing happened. When I let the throttle go, the car dies. I really don't know what it could be. I double checked everything and everything is hooked up the way it was originally. If anybody has any idea please help. Thanks a lot.

What were you trying to accomplish by removing the air pump?

I am using the car for the track and I removed most of the stuff from the car. And I thought air pump is only for emission so I could remove it. Just didn't know what did go wrong. I am having a problem here and I'm really just looking for contributing comments please. Thanks.
