I was reading in these forums that you should replace your washers on the drain plug for the oil pan. So I went to Mazduh and got 10 @ .70 a piece. When I got home and began the process I never saw a washer on the dp to start with. I still installed mine and I plan on keeping an eye on it but I was just wnodering if anyone could help me out....
I just got my car and this was my first oil change, tomorrow I'm going to open the old filter and see what kind of mysteries my new wankel is hiding. Right now I have some more important things to do

 

You will find nothing.

 

 

The filter is like any other filter. You'll probably find nothing but oil in it.

 

Oh I thought you meant the washer..... That's what I really want to know about. Last thing I need is my plug popping off at 80 mph on I95.... As far as the filter, you might be surprised. I am an aircraft mechanic (in training) and we open up every filter we take off and get a great idea of whats going on inside. I have gear teeth and all different metal shaving colors and what-not. If I find nothing I'll be very happy.......smart ***
