Post-storage problems-- PLEASE HELP
Hey guys,
I'm coming home for labor day weekend, and as a college student, I can't have my car at school yet, so it's been in a storage garage for about 2 months now. There's no power out there, so it wasn't on a trickle charger, and as a result the battery was dead when my dad went to start it. He jumped it and ran it for a while, then drove it back to work. He said it drove normally and everything was fine, except the DSC light was constantly flashing.
When he got back into the car after work, it wouldn't start again, so he got someone to jump it. It started, but apparently it idled at about 2200 rpm, and during his entire drive home the engine wouldn't rev past 3000rpm! When he got home he turned it off and started it again (under its own power now) but the symptoms persist. Does anyone know what caused this and how we can fix it? It's not a vacation weekend without my 8!
Edit: also, it may be worth it to mention that I have had the battery/starter recall done.

If the battery went dead that means the computer lost everything it knew about your car. Over the first 100 miles or so it should even out and be fine as long as it charged. Does the car start now without a jump? If not you will need a new battery.

I'd reset the ECU, and ESS sensor...you might also need a new battery..they don't like going dead for extended periods of time. The car might have gone into "limp mode or self protect mode" from the battery voltage failure....the ECU should have sett a code if it is in "limp" mode

It's dead. We metered the battery and it read fine, so we started it by pushing and popping the clutch in second gear. It started and ran fine for about 50 yards when ALL the dash lights started flickering, and all the gauges were going nuts. The engine was revving and stalling on its own, randomly going from <1000rpm to >5000, and it stopped responding to the accelerator. Eventually it died on its own, luckily in my driveway. The dealer should be towing it today.
