Power steering failure due to the fluid?

The RX-8 doesn't use power steering fluid. It uses electricity

If your 8 was recently in an accident then the body shop that 'fixed' the car is the place to go. If not then the dealership.

Check the connections. They have been know to get dirty.

yeah check connections then go to the dealer if not.....sort of sucks not having a fluid type rack but it is better in many other ways...just can't realy fix it unless u r really experienced with those tings

Flush the electrons out of the wire and replace them with new ones.

It seems like the connector located below the coolant overflow hose tends to go bad when the coolant boils over and spills out onto it. Might want to start by checking there. Beyond that, no clue.
