Recently my car lost it's power steering after I dropped off a letter at the post office. I was a bit annoyed by this as my power steering unit was replaced only 1500 miles ago (by previous owner).

When I got home, I pulled everything apart and followed the DIY to clean and grease all the power steering connectors. I also extended the coolant overflow tube as I believe that this what caused my issue. I recently added coolant due to losing some when I installed my OMP adapter. I probably overfilled it.

Since then, everything is working fine and that probably took care of the issue.

I looked through the service shop receipt and saw that only the rack was replaced and the stock harness is still there. After looking up the part number for the harness (F151-67-SH0D), I found that the harness isn't all too expensive at around $120.




So now my question is, has anybody installed their own new power steering harness? I searched and couldn't find a DIY. If you have, I was wondering if there was any issues or anything out of the ordinary that you had to remove. It looks like it wouldn't be too bad, but I wanted to ask before I decide to drop the coin on a new harness now that my old one seems to be working.

Unplug connectors...undo ground...unclip from rad fan shroud....replace

Other than having to remove the stock intake and possibly the battery box to get at it it should be an easy fix

like dannorbre said, it's pretty much remove, unclip, install new one, install back airbox and battery box. done.

I made a diy showing all the connections about a month ago, personally if I were you and the rack has already been replaced I would save my money get a dental pick and bend the connections so that they make better contact. You're probably going to have to do this anyways because the new harness will only replace one of the problem connectors. You can also fold little pieces of aluminum foil up and slide them into the connectors so the connection is tighter.

Thanks guys. I figured it would be a straight-forward job, but I just wanted to ask to make sure.

Tampa1stRotor, I saw your DIY with the locations and I already made some adjustments to the connectors to ensure better contact when I cleaned and greased everything. I'll probably hold off on the new harness for now as I seem to have corrected the issue, but it's good to know that a new harness will be a pretty easy install.

no one will want to stock this part.

Just call Mazmart a call, give them the part number and credit card number, u should be able to get your part in a week or so.
