Preventative maintenance - Should Seafoam/Mazda Cleaner be Annual/Semi-Annual ritual
I have been reading threads and I'm no mechanical engineer, but from everything I am reading here and people's experiences, good and bad, it would seem to me that it might be a good idea to make a serious ritual of running a carbon cleaning on these engines sort of like oil changes, not really an optional exercise.
Is there any evidence that doing so would be good or bad for the Renesis? I don't have any idea what the long term effects on the seals in the engine if it were done frequently like every 3 to 6 months.
I'm not panicking and running around trying to get rid of my car, but I would like to try to stay ahead of the curve on Maintenance and hopefully longevity.
Thoughts?

Depends - In your house, do you clean up after yourself as you go, or do you let it become a total disaster and then straighten up? This is likely to indicate your car maintenance style as well.
I prefer to using a lubricious cleaner in every tank - then this would likely never be necessary - and you would get better overall wear and more fuel efficiency out of your rotary due to running cleaner all the time.
or
You can do nothing for a some period of time and let all the crud build up, and then do a dramatic cleaning like Seafoam intake cleaning, etc. This method may clean it out, but after much damage/wear has been done from running dirty all the time, not to mention the poorer fuel economy.
Your choice.
