Price Check - SSV Solenoid

I have a 2004 Mazda RX8 Touring. The Check Engine light came on the other day, so I had the computer ran. It came back with a code saying the "SSV Solenoid" was bad. What would be the best way for me to go about this? Where would be the best place for me to get the part at a good price?

Get a used one...they don't fail that often....and there are 3 on each UIM...so there should be a lot around

Make sure that is the problem though......the solenoid code can come up for other SSV related reasons

$82 each and they are all the same. VDI, AIR and SSV use that same solenoid.

Could be the wiring harness itself that plugs into the solenoid or could be a dirty connection between the two which can be cleaned but is hard to get to.

Best to remove the Upper Inlet Manifold to access and clean properly.
