Problem with the immobolizer?

I have owned my 2005 AT RX-8 for about 2 months now and have had no problems until now. This morning when I went to start my car, I noticed that my keyless entry was not working. I unlocked the doors, the good old fashioned way and tried starting the car. The engine is not turning over or even clicking and none of the interior features are working (can't lock the doors, adjust seats, turn on inside lights etc). However all of the warning lights come on, the emergency signals flash and the panic alarm starts going off everytime I try to turn the car over.

I have tried jumpstarting the car and have tested the battery which is at full power (headlights and the such still work). I have also checked all of the fuses, and they all look to be in good shape, but I still swapped a few for good measure. I get the same results no matter which of my keys I am using. From everything I have read, this sounds to me like maybe the immobolizer is stuck...but I do not even see the indicator on my instrument panel for it.

Of course this happened on a Friday after business hours, so now I have to wait until Monday to get anything looked at. I am open to any and all suggestions, I love my car and just want to drive it again

Thanks to anyone who can offer any advice

Tow it to your dealer.

Kimmybo, hey for some reason unexplained the PATS system on the 8's like to clear the key codes. If you take it to the dealer they should be able to fix it farely easy

I have read a couple of places on here that as long as you have the two main keys, you can recode them yourself? Is this true and if so how do I do it?

ok this should work 1.-put in a key that works and turn the key to run (not start)2.put in second key that works but do not start the car then put in the third key and start the car .all the while be sure to look at the small lock on the dash to be sure all your keys work as they should.all my keys work that came with the car but i program keys here at my job.(ford dealer)hope this helps you out otherwise just take it to the dealer they should not charge you for the service.
