Purolator PureOne oil filters cheap @ Amazon
Get cheaper oil filters at Amazon - see link. The PureOne is one of the best on the market and the link is for the one for RX8. The price is for a pack of 2 but does not include shipping (free shipping if order is more than $45, I think).

While it rates very high in Single Pass Efficiency, it is VERY restrictive when it comes to oil flow - causing the bypass to be used excessively and thus less total filtration.
K&N's, while expensive and not as highly rated on single pass, filter more total oil as the very high flow of the filter causes very few instances of the oil filter going into by-pass mode. K&N has shown very, very good wear numbers by those in the know (Terry) on BITOG for this very reason. Wix are also known for a very good compromise on flow versus filtration.
BTW - a test was run on BITOG by Bob himself demonstrating that you will have less wear with no filter at all than you will with a highly restrictive filter slowing down oil flow all the time and then jumping into by-pass when the engine is under stress.
Food for thought.
