Quick Feedback: Royal Purple
Just switched to Royal Purple (5w20) at the 70K oil change. I have a 2004 manual.
After the change, I have picking up some unusual odors from the car. Some smell like burnt rubber. Car is driving fine after a short 6K RPM stumble that went away.
Is anyone familiar with changing to synthetics or Royal Purple causing usual odors?

From my understanding the issue is leaks.
Since the molecules in synthetic oil are smaller, synthetic oils can "create leaks" when really they are just finding the flaws that were already there.
Synthetics are not BAD. but on older engines, the synthetic can point out the issues that dino oil didn't find.

sorry, saw the 1/08 and thought this was a new topic...
