Quick question about rotating tires.
I have read the DIY on it but it didn't state weather or not when rotating if i should keep the tires on the same side of the vehicle meaning change front passenger to rear passenger and same for drivers side. Is that how it's suppose to be done? I know this may be a stupid question but I would appreciate the help.

It depends on your tires.
If you have omni-directional tires, they can be used on either side, and there is a cross-over recommendation on one pair, like this:

However, most summer tires and some all seasons are only designed to properly cut through the water in one direction, which means you must keep the tires on the same side of the car. Swapping sides at all will put you at extreme risk of hydroplaning since the tire will be channeling water into the center of the tire rather than out to the sides.
The easiest method to ensure you have the correct rotation direction is to look for a large arrow imprinted on the side of the tire. Like this:

If you have arrows like that, the rotational direction is VERY important, and just move the front to the back and the back to the front, staying on the same side of the car.

I am sorry for being vague, my tires are hankook optimo p225/45R18 and I have stock rims. It's dark where I am but i went out with my phone and used the light on it I couldn't find anything that suggest how to rotate the tires.

Yeah for those tires you can use the diagram shown above. Those are not directional tires.
