Quick questions on ignition wires
There are obviously a whole lot of threads out dedicated to coils and plugs, but I haven't seen too many on wires and hand a couple of questions that should be pretty easy to answer...
I'm planning on switching out my ignition components before I do a decent bit of driving around spring break. Its probably about time for me to switch it out anyway... I would just go with the BHR system, but I already have a full set of unopened OEM coils that came with the car when I got it. I will probably wind up getting the BHR setup before the coils I am about to put on even wear out, but for now I just want to grab some plugs and wires to throw on with these stock ones so I can have a fresh ignition system before I do a lot of driving...
Anyway, my questions...
1. Is there really a set amount of mileage that wires usually need to be switched out at? I know it is pretty usual to just switch out the wires when doing the coils and plugs. But was wondering if this is because they need to be changed at about the same time, or just because you might as well go ahead and switch them out too while you are working on the other stuff?
2. How much difference does the type of wires make when everything else is stock? I am debating between just getting OEM ones, or getting the MSD or Magnecore wires from BHR... Would there be any real or noticeable difference between those types of wires when just hooked up to stock coils?... Like I said, I'll probably be getting the whole BHR system before too long, so for now I'm just trying to figure out what would be the best wires to throw on until then, and don't know a whole lot about ignition wires... Any advice is appreciated...
Thanks!

Well The only thing I can tell you is I had a pair of stock wires snap where the metal nub attaches to the plug tip. It can happen depending on how carefully they are removed from the plugs, when changing the plugs. Idk If the aftermarket wires are better when it comes to durability, but I'm sure someone from BHR can answer both of those questions for you in more detail. If your going to wait for the BHR kit, just put the oem wires on with your oem coils. Then I'm sure the aftermarket wires will work great with you BHR upgrade.
