Radio buttons don't work, steering column ones do

Well, we had to take out the radio to install my gauges, and now my display doesnt say anything, presets/volume/any buttons dont work, cant turn heat/air on. But the lights light up. I can eject/put in a cd and control the volume and everything else with the steering column controls. Any ideas of where to look/what to do? My shop that worked on the car took out the radio to double check the connections and everything is hooked up right. They can't figure it out. Do I need a new radio? It is a stock radio.

Do any of the following work:
  1. cigarette lighter
  2. accessory socket
  3. ashtray light
  4. seat warmer
  5. power mirror

This might help narrow down the circuit.

I believe they checked all the fuses and connections (thats what they told me) and everything is plugged in fine.

What would the battery being disconnected when hu is unplugged do?

It's the connections.

You think it's locked into place but it isn't.

When I pulled mine out it plugged in tight.

I had to reinstall it for the same problem.

See the DIY for CD install.

Before you put it back in, let it hang doen, turn on key see if it works, I f no turn off key re-plug the connections try again.

If all that I asked are working fine, then I would rule out a fuse or relay.
I agree with Razz and Swoope... recheck the wire harness.
