Rear license plate washer

Hey guys,

Well I just got an 04 RX-8 and when I was trying to put on my plate I accidentally knocked back the washer into the rear bumper. Is there anyway to fetch it out? If not, how should I go about screwing the rear plate in?

Thanks guys

Go to the local parts store and find the "help" rack. They sell plastic inserts you can snap into the hole.

like this..

The other one will fall out as you drive.

it'll fall out. there's not much back there to make it stuck.

of course you can take off your rear bumper if you want to get it right now.

I think the hole is just too big for one of those plug in screws, anyone else have any other suggestions?

Take off your rear bumper. It's really the only way. It takes about 30 minutes or so the first time you do it. Exhaust shrouds tend to be a little tricky to get off w/o breaking pins but the rest is a cakewalk.

you won't need to take off the shrouds. fasteners inside wheel well, screws inside wheel well, fasteners near mufflers, screws behind taillights, license plate light. lift up slightly and pull outward.

it'll be a good experience. haha

yes you need to remove the taillights as there are screws behind it holding the bumper up.

the taillights can be taken off by removing the tool storage panels, pulling the covers back, unplugging the four sockets on each taillight and the unbolting nuts.
