Rebuiild in houston help
Hello folks,
I read a few threads of several members requiring some mechanic help in Houston but i have yet to come across a recommendation.
I just got my compression test performed at Mazda and unfortunately it failed, meaning i need a rebuild or a new engine. I am trying to find a mechanic that knows their rotaries and can help me rebuild or replace my engine.

The only non dealer rebuilders I'm aware of are at least 4 hours from Houston, one in Garland north of Dallas, Rotary Performance, and one in Edinburg down on the Rio Grande O.J. Imports.
There has been some negative experiences related to OJ, I've never heard anything bad about RP.
Idk for sure what a dealership would charge for a rebuild, but I've seen $7k and up estimates posted.
It could be cheaper to ship it to Garland, or drive it if it's possible and grab a rental home.
Be sure you get a firm estimate from the dealer before you turn it over to them.
If you discover another rebuilder, please post it on the Rebuilder's thread.
Thanks.
