Rebuild sooner or later?
Just curious if it's better to rebuild an engine early or to wait until it gets bad to do it. I'm not saying that mine needs it now, just curious if it's better to rebuild as you start having issues or if you should just wait until failure.

it is probably best to catch it before anything catastrophic happens. if a seal actually breaks, it will destroy the rotor housing, and possibly side housings, and a rotor.
if its taken apart before it explodes, the side housings and rotor will at least be worth measuring, and probably still be ok.
the rotor housing is a wear part, so its reuse depends on mileage more than anything else.
if you want a more piston engine-y analogy, its like opening a Porsche, or S2000 engine and hoping that the cylinder walls (rotor housings) are good, vs breaking a ring and knowing that they are bad
