Recall "T" Flash and Roughness Under Deceleration

After getting the recall done I noticed that like the S flash, the new T flash causes a roughness at deceleration due to the RPM’s falling down to what appears to be about 750. This seems to happen whether I am in gear or in netural.
With the S flash, this went away after a few days of driving. After over a week of driving, my car still seems to be rough during deceleration.

The good news is that the idle is much better with the A/C on once the idle comes back up after deceleration.

Anyone else notice this? Has anyone who has gotten the recall flash had the same experience? Did it go away for you after a few drive cycles?

hmmm, very interesting. I'm getting my recall done on Friday and I'll report back with any findings.

I had my 8 in for the recall two weeks ago and I've got no problems with roughness in decelaration. Mines an '06 mt.

I havent done a single reflash since I purchased my car in 04...so I have no idea which flash I have. One thing though, after the installation of a flywheel and pulleys, my RPM drop to 750, sometime a bit closer to 700. I've even had the engine stall a couple times. I know what you're talking about with roughness. I'm concerned now...do you mean that your engine didn't used to idle at 750, that it dropped with this new flash. If so, I may be in for some trouble....especially since I have close to 60K miles on the car and am outside of my warranty.

yea I have noticed that also--almost like the neutral switch is gone. Used to push in the clutch/coast and the car would settle at 1K--not anymore.

hmm, interesting. I have had the RPM's surge before up, which was a sign of the neutral switch, but if that is also a sign, I might have to take it into the dealer now.

my engine does idle at the 950 mark, its just when I put the clutch in that it drops down real low before it settles into idle.

dang, you should've done the R flash recall while you have a chance.

From what I've read, if you got your 8 in early 04. you probalby have the L flash ! Which is the stupidest flash for the car.

Hmm , maybe its time to get your engine check. Because I think 750 idle speed is WAY too low(typical should be around 810~)

Any time you clear the ECU you may get this and a rough idle until you drive a few cycles.
