Recalls

Alright so I just bought a 2004 Mazda RX-8 with 60k plus on the motor last week and so far I have multiple recalls according to my local mazda dealership, but they can't recall anything unless if I am experiencing problems with my 8. One of the recalls is the engine where they will replace it with a brand new engine and thats only if I am experiencing hesitations or loss of power which I actually do feel a lose of power on my RX-8 during long driving. Also the clutch plate, powertrain blah blah blah that needs to be recall.

I don't know how I should approach this because they want me to bring it in tommorow, but I just hope they don't charge me for diagnostics without me asking. And they are not cheap at the stealership.

It looks like you are confusing a recall with a TSB ( technical service bulletin ). As the name implies a recall involves RECALLING all the cars effected no mater if the problem exists. In fact the control arm recall for example is just a precaution, I have not heard of any failing here and it would be silly for dealers to wait for the part to fail before fixing it. TSB's however are memo's to dealerships that instruct them what to do if they see a certain issues that other dealerships have reported. TSB's are only done during the original warranty period, which you are out of.
You should call Mazda USA in the morning with your VIN# and they can tell you if you have any open RECALLS and the dealerships MUST follow the procedures listed in the recall. If they do not call Mazda again and they will take care of it. As the the engine if must fail a compression test before they will replace the engine. I don't know what your referring to with the clutch plate, and drivetrain. The Clutch pedal has a recall, that's it. There isn't any extended warranty on the drivetrain.

Well for the engine replacement, it will have to fail a compression test.
For the Clutch pedal, you can complain of shifting problems, although I'm 90% sure their going to test drive it. (My friend just had this done, and I'm in the process of trying to stop procrastinating about it getting done.)
He said the clutch pedal replacement was a 100% free repair and did not pay anything. He is a member here and maybe he will chime in.

you can't just "oh Im feeling lack of power" and ask them to replace your engine for free.

You have to at least show them you did your part, which means maintenance records. like oil change, spark plugs, coils, etc.

What clutch plate powertrain recall what ? are you sure you know what you're talking about ?

Or maybe they don't know the difference between a TSB and a recall. Take whatever they offer to do for free.
