Recommended oil

Is it true that the oil recommended is not correct and if so what should be used

Yes. Different oil.

Actually.... search this site for the oil chart from the Australian owner's manual. (It might be in one of the stickies.) That chart gives the appropriate oil grades for various ambient temperatures. There's a wide variety of weights for any given temperature. The weight recommended in North America (5w20) is pretty much the thinnest on the chart. That violates the handbook engineer's principle of picking a part from the middle of a range.

Or you could read one of the many "which oil" threads, and make an informed decision from the consensus they usually reach.

It is very rude to post a question on a completely different topic in a thread where someone else is actively trying to solve their own issue.

Then thread closed, because it's one of the basic questions. Please read the New Owner's thread at a minimum.
