I know that this is a dumb question to many of you but I would like to know what has been done and why? I bought a 2005 model recently and took it into a local dealer for a reflash of the engine computer. It was done as a recall. They left no stickers that I have noticed and didn't give me any paperwork but they did wash the car for free. I had noticed that the tail pipes were black with carbon inside the tips. I also know that the racing beat reflash corrects overrich mixture at high rpm that I believe is to protect the cat. So the big questions are; what did this reflash do? what rpm does the mixture turn rich?

 

by the way the car has 25000 miles on it.

 

well the newest flash is for loss of power/rough idle.....i know at one point a flash was to inject more oil

Adds more oil and makes it a little leaner in the upper range plus a slight tweak in timing.
