Removing My Cat

Removing My Cat
I am new to rotary's and I was wondering what kind of power gains are available by removing the cats. I am also aware this is illegal, but does anyone know what the actual consequences are for doing this. I have heard varied things, from just a ticket all the way up to having your vehicle impounded. By the way I live in Texas. Thank your for your help.

In this DOC Which I found at http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/implemen...tampering.html lists a $25,000 fine also. There are some gains when you remove the CAT but in my opinion the noise, smells, CEL are not worth the small HP increase.

Listen to expo.
CAT is there for a reason, it helps to reduce a lot of the *useless* crap from the exhaust gas. Not to mention, exhaust gas flows around, and if you go cat-less, and it flows into your cabin, and you breathe it ...
I had my cat totally *burned* once and the exhaust smell is horrible.
