Why do you want to remove the steering wheel?

to see if I can put a spacer in. I know this can be a problem with airbags since they are going off closer to your face but I need a longer steering colum. dam mazda for waiting to 2005 to fit adjustable colums

That could lead to a lot of warranty and ADR complications, probably better to ask Mazda if they can fit an adjustable column from the 05 spec, provided that it is available.

I reckon that would cost too much. I'll check on the road worthyness of spacers

The wires to the clockspring are fairly short..

I'm not sure how long of a spacer you could install.

I want one too. I had a 120 mm spacer that worked well on my last BMW. I think 90 - 100 mm would work well in the 8.

OK so now I need to find someone who is willing to make up a boss for me as no one seems to make one.
