Repairs/Problems - Clutch-Noise-Rattle--Exhausted from problems
So a couple months ago my clutch pedal bracket broke, and I was on my way home on the e-way, and I finished driving as I knew it broke but was pretty easily able to get home as I was already going fairly fast when I shifted into 5th, my rpm's were obviously a bit higher driving like that, and it turned out I burned out my clutch.. So that was a Dumbass decision..
So I got the Bracket fixed, and bought a new OEM replacement clutch from Exedy, and got it installed. Get my car back and it seems like there is a sheering noise when the clutch isn't depressed. I rev when it is depressed and you hear nothing but engine rev but it neutral, and clutch not engaged, it is a weird like, sheering is the only way I can describe it cause it's not a grind. It makes a much harsher and similar sheering noise than it used to when " Downshifting and the car is winding itself down without braking, or just not accellerating and it is winding itself down. Also it seems to make the noise when I hit little bumps and the car jilts a bit...
So I feel like maybe I got a messed up install? I didn't think anything of having a clutch installed, as I thought of it as being relatively universal. Am I wrong? Or is the clutch just gonna be like that cause its brand new and its gripping that much harder??
It seems I have a rattle as well, and I'm sort of guessing its my exhaust or something cause it's inconsistent, at lower rpms when I'm not accelerating...
Also all of a sudden my heat goes in and out with bumps, or if its really cold it just doesn't start up what so ever... And my damn powersteering goes in and out... Any ideas? My car just taking a ****?
Thanks for any help, sorry it is so long. I am just frustrated and could use some direction

Trying to understand these statements...
You are saying that with the pedal depressed (clutch disengaged) you hear nothing, but in neutral (clutch still disengaged) you hear this noise?
So you're saying with the tranny in gear and pedal depressed there is no noise, but in neutral there is noise?
So here you are saying that the noise is harsher "winding down"... I'm assuming you're in gear at this point or do you mean while the RPMs drop because you disengaged the clutch?
With the clutch disengaged you are using the release bearing to push in on the pressure plate fingers.
So if the noise is noticeable with the pedal depressed, it could be this.
Also... improper installation of the power plant frame can cause noise, probably more noticeable while diving.
Once we fully understand what you're describing, we can start narrowing it down.

Sorry for the bad description.

- Yes, exactly.

- Yes here I meant when I am in gear and let off the gas, I hear the loud/sheering from the Front-Right.

Does the sound ever appear to come from under the center console next to you or by your feet?
Can't think why the noise being "gear dependent" would have anything to do with your recent clutch installation.
Not convinced on one particular thing causing this at the moment...
Can you take a video clip of your noise so we can hear it?

yeah I can try to do that tomorrow. I am not sure it is vivid enough to hear through video but I will try to do that with my camera. It does seem like it comes from the passenger wheel area but it could be the center console area as well, I just had it fixed not too long ago and haven't had much time to drive it on good pavement and get a good listen.

Now you said the noise occurs in neutral but not in gear.
So you can replicate this noise with the car stationary?
If so, have someone in the car revving it while you get under the car and see/hear where the noise really is coming from.
Also, you should update your profile to list your location.

Yes in neutral, but it also occurs while I'm driving. Like when I said when I downshift/let off the gas. But I really noticed there was a difference when I stopped and revved with it in neutral, and then again with the clutch depressed.
Alright, I joined before looking up info about my bracket so I'm pretty new to the site. I'll go ahead and update it now.
I'll see if any of my buddies have some ramps I can borrow.
-Thanks for the help
