Revving in nuetral

I know its bad to rev motorcycles in neutral and I was wondering if this applies to the rx8 engine as well. I'm talking up to 9 grand.

Revving your engine to 9k is never good.

Ive just seen the people on youtube revving with new exhausts and was just curious about how bad it really is.

Well usually they are also doing it on a cold engine too which is even more retarded. But either way it is not going to cause noticeable damage unless you do it on a daily basis.

the PCM will stop you from revving the engine if it decides you were doing it for too long. it will drop the revs to idle and not respond to anymore input from the throttle
