ok so before i take my car in i will ask yesterday i installed a new intake on to my 04 rx8 upon removing the old intake and looking into the rubber boot i found oil now i know my car uses oil in certain cases but does it belong there it was within the ribs f the rubber boot that connects your intake to your throttle body im a bit concerned about this as i haven't had my car more then a month and i found this anyways if someone knows anything about this please help car seems to be running fine but still a bit worried also oil seemed thick and black like it has been there a while and sense i did a oil change about 1000 miles ago dont know just weird weird weird thanks for your help ahead of time

Yea a LOT of people report oil in their intake, myself included.
The only real fix is to clean it all out and install a catch can in line with the hose that goes from the oil filler neck to the intake tract.
I did this and my intake has been dry ever since. I also noticed that my dipstick doesn't have any milky froth on it either since the catch can went on. Not sure how/why it's related, but apparantly it is.
