I was hoping that someone could recommend a good book that would aid in understanding the inter-relationship between all of the measurable inputs (MAF, EGT, O2, etc.) and controlable outputs (spark timining and duration, fuel injection timing and duration, etc.). I realize that many of these are not (yet) fully adjustable, but there appears to be hope in the near future. Before I consider making any change, I would like to understand the expected outcome and can then measure my results against this.
