I have an '04 as well and just received an addendum to the warrantee... The rotor core (including seals) is now covered for 96 months or 100,000 miles, whichever is first. Hopefully it's something that is still covered!

I'm thinking about going to the dealer and getting a compression test done, and if anything is off, hopefully they will replace. I am getting a turbo shortly, so I better do that before I install it. My car runs great, but you never know.

Yeah, but I would have to have the car towed to Spokane for about $270 and then it would be up there for two or three weeks getting the new engine. Secondly, what if it died on me on a road trip, it seems like everyone's engine just goes all of a sudden, no warning.

True though, it isn't so scary bad anymore, definately a lot cheaper.

And about the towing, I believe I saw that is covered too if it was a fault of what is covered under the warrantee that you broke down.

If the tow was done via roadside it is reimburssed upon determination of power train failure. If you didn't tow it back with roadside you might have a fight on your hands.

The warranty covers the engine from the purchase date to 96 months or 100K miles which ever comes first..it dose not start again when you get a rebuilt motor.

There has to be a min. warranty on the engine though. 20K-30K miles maybe? I dunno. They would have to warranty the engine core for some time I would think even if it weren't under the power train anymore.
