Rotor modification

Although I don't drive a lot, I have had the Deeper Goopy seals in my rx8 for almost a year, all boosted, mostly drive it around town with boost and highway commute to work sometimes, I also took it on a 400mile round trip to a meet.
car is running great! It pulls good vacuum about (15inhg) on the gauge but I believe its more because the gauge rests above 0. idle is smooth.

I was planning to do the same exact thing and I found A slight problem with building a fixture to do this.
I was planning to make a tall jaw for the back of the vice to hold the rotor. It would be located by two dowels which would fit into the corner seal holes. This giving me the oppertunity to just rotate the rotor 120* to cut the next apex seal slot.
But the distances are so far all over the place, a fixture could not be used. What a pain in the ***.

If I were going to upgrade seals, I wouldn't go 3mm. I'd have the grooves machined deeper so 2 piece RX-7 seals could be used. While the seal is no thicker, the seal is twice as tall which by default is an increase in strength. Being taller means that it's movement within the groove won't wear the rotor grooves as severely either.
