we have two models here in SA ; a 140kw 5 speed version and a 170kw 6 speed one. The 170kw is the 6 port motor but has lower torque than the 140kw motor.

which is the better one to use to turbo/supercharge ?

if you are looking for a KIT then i believe there is more avaialble for the 6port. I havent seen anything for the 4port 5 speed. What kits do you have readily available?

no kits available here. But I see you guys have the hks kit available there. If I were to go that route then I would import one. good write ups here on this forum about the e-manage, etc. Just a bit concerned that mazdatrix withdrew the kit from their website. But its still available from other vendors

test drove a 6 port yesterday....didn't blow me away, but drove well, good roadholding. just needs a little bit of zoom zoom. Was a red one with black leather seats with the red inset. Today I say a black one with black leather. 2004 model with 24k on the clock. asking price of $31K. New they are $48,500 here. They depreciate quickly !

 

yeah i know them both. i really should spend a littl emor etime over their. they ported at least one renesis so far and ive been meaning to talk mor ewith them about it. good luck- get the 6port

 

one last question ;

with the rx7's it was always adviseable to turbo the 4 port 13b's rather than the 6 port ones.

Have HKS therefore managed to solve whatever problems there were now with their turbo kit for the 6 port renesis motor ?
