rx8 shooting flames?
hello, i know this topic has sound familiar to all. but as far as i research everyone that owns an rotary engine car there are able to make their cars shoot flames.
in this case i have an 05 rx8 a/t an i deleted the cat n put straight pipes 2.5"
but the car still dont shoot no flames at all. is there a reason for this?

I own a 6 port auto, so RPM's might change. I have the full TurboXS exhaust with AP tuning. Make sure the exhaust is hot.
What I do:
-Run the engine up to 7500 RPM's in 2nd or 3rd gear (under load)
-Put in neutral, let the RPM's fall to 6500 RPM's
-Rev back up to 7500 RPMS (still in nuetral)
-Stab the gas pedal at it hits 6500 RPM's again
It literally sounds like a shotgun blast.

-1, How can you tell him that his exhaust isn't any good. And how could that be the reason he isn't shooting flames....?
You probably are shooting flames, you just have to drop the throttle just right, it takes a little practice. There are videos of people shooting flames really easily and usually it's because they have a rich tune on the Access Port.

if he is running a stock exhaust, he wont get the nice big ol flames. he needs something with a less restrictive airflow, hence why i said you need a proper exhaust.
and +1 on the AP

Well he said he was catless. A full exhaust would shoot more fire but I had no problem with a stock exhaust catless.... I think it's just technique but a better exhaust wouldn't hurt.

i tried to pop flames once with an AP Midpipe and a stock exhaust, all i got was baby flames lol.

Whats always worked for me is warm it up, rev to about 3k and hold, push to 5 k for about 4 seconds then full throttle, before red lining let off, then rev back up to red line and keep bouncing the needle. If u get really good you can time the pop and rev it right before to make an even louder and bigger flame. I only have these small flame pics for now.
