Rx8 tie bar questions
HI new to the forums and new to rx8s.
Have had my car for a little over a month and some stupid lady side swiped my car parked. My wheel was turned and she killed my front fender and wheel. Well in the process she seem to bend my left tie bar rod. I found the rod online for anywhere from 40-100 dollars.
My questions are recommendations on a good reputable site to get the part?
Second question is how hard is it to replace is there a D.I.Y on it?
On a scale 1-10 how hard is it to do? Basic hand tools or will i be better off taking it to a shop?
If anyone can give me some advice id really appreciate it.

It's difficult to answer your initial question as both your '1-10 scale' and 'hand tools' are very subjective. If you're mechanically inclined and have done some automotive work then it's about a 5 on the scale and would be within the rhealm of the hand tools most of us have.
Keep in mind that post replacement you should have your alignment professionally adjusted as most of us lack the high tech laser equipment now employed for same.
I trust you need a new wheel as well as endlinks, etc.?
Some hi-res closeup pictures of the damage would be most helpful in further advising. Without which we really don't know how extensive the repairs/parts required may be.

I'll try to get some pics tonight. And yes I am mechanically inclined I'd say and hand tools such as like a socket set wrenches those typical stuff most people have in there at home tool box.

tie rod is easy, you could do everything yourself, jack the car up, drop the under tray, take the clamp off the tie rod boot, break the tie rod end nuts, hit the tie rod end out take and out the tie rod boot and you will see the nut to take out the tie rod.
make sure you count how many turns while you take the tie rod end out, so you will have number while you put the tie rod end back in, you still need a alignment but you will not kill your tires while driving to there..
