Your driveway is pretty steep, I would say at least 4 guys. Tomorrow night good? I would like to do it tonight but Claudia will kill me if I spend another night wrenching

houstonrx8er 05-22-2012 02:52 PM

I am game whenever not going anywhere

hoss -05 05-22-2012 03:14 PM

I'm down for tomorrow night or whenever man.... Shoot four people... we got this with the three of us! Maybe we can hook up a rope and have cooper pull.

houstonrx8er 05-22-2012 03:30 PM

now your talking....hook him up and throw the ball and he is all over it :)

shadycrew31 05-22-2012 03:56 PM

I think it would look cooler if we pulled it up.

p.s. I can head down there but I wont get there till 8:30.

I'll call at 7ish tomorrow night and see where y'all are at with it.

houstonrx8er 05-22-2012 04:02 PM

oh there you go...have just the dog pulling the car back up into the garage :)

olddragger 05-22-2012 04:24 PM

i think you should have oil in the omp lines already? Even though it didnt run long.
By street port--i take it that means the ports where not enlarged--right?

houstonrx8er 05-22-2012 04:26 PM

Shady and I may have taken some very small "liberties" but I dont think there was anything to agressive

Yeah but he running the SOHN now, it needs to be primed a bit by squeezing the line from the OMP reservoir. It will do it on it's own if it drives though.

There was was no overlap, I made sure of that using a rotor.

I'm pretty sure that post I quoted has the issue outlined pretty well.

I'll bet good money that once this thing burns off all the Vaseline/oil/ and excess hylomar etc etc she will be purring pretty.

rotarygod 05-22-2012 05:49 PM

You only pull it until the engine starts. Don't try to leave it in gear being pulled after it is already running.

I think so too, hard starting rotaries after a rebuild is not that uncommon and most that were hard to start went on to be productive engines in rotary society.

houstonrx8er 05-22-2012 06:32 PM

well I certainly hope its the case.

I think I am good on the pull start when it catches and runs that is where I will sit for the next 20min (well maybe tow back in neutral and get a cold one....)

olddragger 05-22-2012 08:41 PM

oh he has the sohn--didnt realize that--nevermind. lol.
If it cranks you can drive it back to where you want it--just dont put a heavy load on it right off.
Shady--you are probably right---it probably just needs a good cough.

houstonrx8er 05-22-2012 09:00 PM

well I am ready to pull on this badboy to eliminate that and move on to whatever is next.

:Wconfused:not working is one thing but not really having a plan "b" is a real pain for my OCD/ADHD:dunno:

hoss -05 05-22-2012 10:53 PM

I can't wait to see the look on the people next door as we drag the car around and around lol.

9krpmrx8 05-22-2012 11:44 PM

I was doing some research and I think I found the problem. Gremlins in the engine bay

I think we can all agree that the main issue is stemming from not properly draining the clutch fluid.

olddragger 05-23-2012 07:24 AM

I have done that before.........
Could be that --But did he remember to let both windows down and blow the horn 3 times within 15 seconds?

houstonrx8er 05-23-2012 07:44 AM

you mean the trans fluid?

I did that on purpose to see if you could man handle a S2 full of fluid...we already know you can handle the dinky S1

hoss -05 05-23-2012 12:23 PM

houstonrx8er 05-23-2012 05:12 PM
