yea I smiled and sent our rep an email for a hat or something like that :)

I def want to see the battery relocation cause its next on my list.....we will be in touch :)

olddragger 06-22-2012 08:25 AM

why are yall relocating the battery to the trunk?--Just like to work on it like me?
Remember the cars engine bay air flow design is to exit under the car. Removing stuff from the rear of the fans assembly will upset that as the fan will then blow directly toward the engine--into the engine bay. It will no longer be redirected to get under the car. This is also going to increase the engine bay air pressure making air flow through the radiator a little more difficult.
If you do move the battery--put a shield over the top part of the fan assembly to redirect that air flow toward the bottom of the engine or duct it out throught a vented hood. Now THAT would be nice!

I am 1 step ahead :)......I am going to make a shelf that goes over the cross member with a lip that acts like a air foil :) I have read alot about the increased temp but never considered the pressure difference....hmmmm...still going to do it because its in the way

+1 same for me. Please make me a tray too please.

houstonrx8er 06-22-2012 11:05 AM

houstonrx8er 06-22-2012 11:08 AM

I am thinking about a styrofoam form and actually make a fiberglass one....then we can reuse it over and over :)

9krpmrx8 06-22-2012 11:14 AM

Fiberglass sounds messy to make

You must have dealt with Tim (mustache) this time. The other guy is a prick.

houstonrx8er 06-22-2012 01:15 PM

oh yea, maybe it was a different guy....its been a while

9krpmrx8 06-22-2012 01:30 PM

Tim always goes out of his way to help, the other guy acts like I'm ruining his whole fucking day. The only thing I can guess is that they get some type of commission and he looks at me as small customer where as Tim knows I have been there a billion times and while I never spend a shit ton I have spent a good deal of money there and continue to come back.

houstonrx8er 06-22-2012 01:57 PM

thats what he told me...just give us more business...I said "with service like this you got it"

9krpmrx8 06-22-2012 02:00 PM

What did you get adapters for? Oil relocation?

houstonrx8er 06-22-2012 02:17 PM

yea, I sent back my -10an anodized for a much cheaper 1/2npt cast adaptor...saved a bunch of $$$

I totally forgot to say that I did a "hot start test" today and on 3 occasions bam......it started no problem (and one of those I drove hard for 10 min).....still has hard starts but noticable improvement.

Good shit man. I bet it felt good shifting gears like you stole the car lol

houstonrx8er 06-23-2012 08:09 AM

yep....I kid of did that for break in and I cant say I have babied it at all over the last 700miles but yesterday was the hardest for sure :).....but I think I am going to have to just sell it and buy a S2000 ;)

Chino_rx3 06-23-2012 09:42 AM

S2000 really .. I like that car but I'm rotary fanatic I could never switch .. now a NSX maybe lol

houstonrx8er 06-23-2012 09:47 AM

sorry man, it was a total joke.....I actually hate the s2000 :)

9krpmrx8 06-23-2012 09:59 AM

If it makes you feel any better I took a long drive last night and ended up toying with and embarrassing an S2000 :) It was a fun drive.

houstonrx8er 06-23-2012 10:23 AM

it does :)

so went for a cruise and decided to check codes (since I stare at a apv code) and lo and behold code p0661 SSV solenoid valve control circuit low ON 2 CCM (could this be the "blip" I felt the other day?)

also did a "pm" on my sunroof because it has been chattering as it opens and the MF broke....barely got it closed.....time to throw it away and go cf :P

9krpmrx8 06-23-2012 10:27 AM

I had that same code, I swapped out the vacuum solenoids. I have some extras we can test and then replace yours if need be. Did you block off the one that went to your air pump? I can't remember.
