Shift **** Rattle

Hey guys, I have an AFE Short Shifter. I recently bought a Mazdaspeed carbon fiber shift **** and it has a loud rattle sound. I know this happens with some aftermarket shift ***** on the AFE, but I figured a Mazdaspeed **** would be very similar to the stock ****. I've tried wrapping the threading on the shifter with plumbers tape and that helped for a couple of days then it went back to rattling. Any other suggestions besides using a different shift **** because I really like the Mazdaspeed one. Thanks

You're sure that is where the rattle is coming from? I assume it doesn't happen when you put the stock one on?

maybe use a very thin layer of silicon. like the kind in the tube you use to seal a bathtub. That will break if you need to take it off for whatever reason, but not sure if it will solve your problem.

Yeah, I had the stock **** on for about 1 1/2 years no problem. The problem seems to come from the top of the shift ****. When I hold it tight at the top, the rattle goes away, but when I remove my hand, it comes back.

I'll try the silicone, hopefully it will help...thanks
