Why do you want to log.. while the car is disconnected to the laptop.
Oh i guess you want to change the gauges without the PCM being switched on... that make sense :p

I've been thinking about that. The challenge is that we query the vehicle to see what parameters are supported (what I call the vehicle capabilities). I'll look into some solutions - maybe we can cache the last set of vehicle capabilities so you can do some preparation offline.
In the meantime there are a few things you can do to make life a little easier:
1. Save your gauge configuration (using File|Save) so you can reload something preconfigured with File|Load at a later date.
2. There is nothing stopping you turning the key to ON (not starting the vehicle) then do a Connect in sCANalyser and then turning the key to off and do your setup, then start and go. sCANalyser will handle this just fine.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll publish some plans and an update on where things are at in the next few days. I'll give you a bit of a hint... starting this week sco is working on sCANalyser pretty much full time.

I know i will get bashed for this probably but i have searched for two nights and cannot find it! I saw a thread or a site that told me how to make the charts, (and maybe something about a/f correction if needed with hymees) and now I can not find it anywhere. I did one set of charts before i was turboed about two months ago and have forgotten how to handle the excel pivot table/chart. PLEASE someone help me

zoom zoom 8... There is a section on this in the back of the sCANalyser manual.
Now with regards to AFR correction, there is no need to do this. sCANalyser reports the data from the Wideband O2 sensor as provided by the PCM. Our testing has shown this to be accurate in comparison to a Motec O2 sensor. We recommend using Lambda (called Equivalence Ratio in sCANalyser as that is what it is called in the OBD specification), not AFR - to use AFR you have to know the stoichiometric ratio of your fuel. With lambda you don't need to know what the stoich ratio is - 1.0 lambda is always stoich.
If you want to read some more about this it's being discussed at the moment here: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...9&postcount=18

Zaku-8 -- I'm working on that right at the moment. I'm doing a bunch of changes to the core of sCANalyser (all the behind the scenes stuff you don't see - kind of like the gears in a traditional watch) to enable a bunch of new cool features, including accessing all the proprietary data. The aim is to be able to get proprietary data and standard data on the gauges at the same time... e.g. so you could tune using O2 readings, MAF, Timing Advance, Throttle Position and Knock Retard. These changes will be made available to existing customers at no charge.
Unfortunately I don't have access to a car that has TPMS, so I'll be releasing a beta for you guys to try and check it works OK.
I need to write up a post on what we're up to.

Question,
Does this product read all the DTC's?? I have Canscan and cannot read certain DTC's associated with aspects of the car other than MIL indicator. (I know I have DTC's)

Hey guys, trying to graph my a/f throughout the rpm range but I cannot get the rpm to just be represented by the rpm number and the a/f to be the only line in the chart. Can someone take a look at my chart and let me know what to do to get rid of the rpm line and just have the rpm numbers on the left hand side? Thanks

wouldnt you rather have rpm at the bottm and AF on the left? and then not graph the time.
i have to admit to not spending much time with my scanalyser recently but a thought occured- if it can read the odometer plus speed and graph the time of the run couldnt we use it to get 1/4 mile speed's and ETs? wouldnt be exactly accurate but it would be as close as the cars sensors could make it

There are some other cool features I've got planned to help people doing tuning and who want to understand the impact of modifications they're making... I don't want to much say for competitive reasons because I think some of them are pretty innovative.

You can also convert rpms and time or speed and time and a bunch of other correction factors to get hp and torque the way it would be represented on a chassis dyno - that seems to require alot of data smoothing though (well at least with the oldschool canscan it did - perhaps the scanalyzer would be better... be willing to try it if someone would like to give me a file of rpms and time for a single gear pull and an approx temperature when you did it). I used this method along with an accelerometer extensively when i was tuning my CZ.
