Sohn/ oil and catch can

Before anyone says search, I have and also wanted a second opinion, I have the sohn (not installed yet) when I do install it I’m planning on going with RP synthetic in the engine, I’m in Vancouver WA, the climate is 40-70 roughly and only up to 90 in summer, I was going to go with 5W30 as I’ve read 5W20 is too thin, wanted to know if this is sufficient for the tempature I’m in. As for the oil in the adapter resovoir I plan on putting in RP synthetic 2 stroke, I was under the impression that you can’t use synthetic in our cars but after reading about it for a couple days I’ve found out that you can, wanted a second opinion on that as well. Also I have a 2007 GT, I was looking into catch cans and came across a few readings that said our filler tube hose is rerouted down to the maintanence ports and then shot back into the engine? Wanted to know if a catch can would even be a good investment for this year of car, if so how would I go about that as my line isn’t directed to the intake tube it’s routed down to a three way T.

Thanks in advance for any helpful reply’s.

Most good 2-stroke is synth or semi-synth and in any case, synth 2-stroke is not the same as synth motor oil. Just make sure it is FC or FD certified, that standard has the appropriate oil characteristics for our cars, as opposed to something like a lawnmower or sea-doo. Not sure of RP meets that standard.

Don't worry about the catch can.
5W30 is fine. You can go heavier if you're racing or have some other severe duty requirement. In fact, once you have your Sohn, most arguments against running synthetic motor oil go away, so you're free from having to compromise.

Okay thank you, I’ll check into RP I was thinking of going with redline but that stuff is pricey, also this has nothing to do with the current topic but I can not for the life of me figure out how to delete a thread on here.

If I remember correctly, deleting the starting post will also delete the entire thread.
