Sooo clutch went...Spec stage 2?
So my clutch recently started slipping really bad so i need to have it replaced...i was recommended to get a spec stage 2 clutch and thought it was a good idea as my rx8 is lightly modified but also daily driven (and i plan to do a couple more things)
But searching on here i haven't seen any rx8 owners running the spec stage 2 clutch and i dk why?
what do you guys think? should i look away from spec?
i know a stage one would handle the torque out cars but out fine but what do you guys think?

Probably because of the 12, or so, clutches that SPEC built for BHR 10 were garbage and caused nothing but problems. On top of that, SPEC refused to address the issues with me and I lost about $8,000 in that deal by the time I made my customers whole. I suggest either the ACT ZM8-HDSS or the Exedy Stage 1.

Organic means as opposed to asbestos. The disc life is going to be fine, assuming you use the clutch properly. Unless you are a serious racer (which 99% of us are not), the "Stage 1" types of clutches will suit your needs perfectly. Don't forget to reinforce your clutch pedal while you are at it, too.

Why would we need to reinforce the clutch pedal? Is a aftermarket clutch harder to engage and might break the pedal in half? I've heard of them breaking but don't know the reason behind it.

It has been demonstrated enough times to raise the interest of NHTSA that the OEM pedal is prone to failure even with the factory clutch and as few as 47K miles. It is better to reinforce it as a preventative than to wait until a problem arises. By the time a problem becomes evident, the synchros in the trans may already be worn.
