Spare tire mount install?

Spare tire mount install?
I have searched, and did not find anything that shows how to install the mount. I just bought one from someone only to learn that there are no instructions included for the install. Could anyone describe the steps, or point me in the right direction? (The mount is still in the mail, btw). My only hope outside of this would be that it is a brain-dead install to do.

Just had the time to sit down and gloss over these instructions... drilling?! Eew; I don't like that idea. Is this step absolutely necessary? I have yet to receive the kit, so I don't have a full idea of what is involved. I will probably see what the dealership charges to install. I'm pussing out mostly because I've never done something this intrusive to a car... let alone my own brand new one. I'd rather pay someone and leave the liability to them! =D

Tire Mount Install
No drilling needed if you use double sided tape to mount the small rubber piece that insulates the tire form the metal part of the trunk. I read the instructions and was confused about the cutting of the gray felt or trunk liner. After you take the liner out it has the cut locations already stamped on the back of the liner. The board it talks about is a small piece of wood used to support the tire repair kit belt to the trunk liner. Not as bad as it sounds.

Done and done! RX8Carnage, those instructions were invaluable! Swingblade; I took your advice with the double-sided tape -- worked great! The cutting was cake; the foam was perforated so i cut it easily with scissors; while the punchouts were slightly trickier with a box-cutter across the dotted region. After breaking the holes out, everything else was just a matter of straining my back over the rear bumper for half an hour or so. I also kept the tire repair kit in there as well. BTW, the instructions were specific with ft-lbs. of torque to tighten the bolts; I kinda winged it with hand-tightening... should I be fine with that, or should I bust out and get a cheapie torque wrench?

Glad to help. That's the beauty of this Forum. We can learn from others so we don't have to make the same mistakes or struggle with something. If you don't have a torque wrench just don't over tighten or you could bust something.
