Spark plug questions
hey fellas haven't been on here in awhile to be able to keep up but I've got a really good question. I noticed about a month ago that my car would have an exhaust pop a little like a 2 stroke dirt bike while it was warming up in the mornings. Now i had replaced my oil lines in november and noticed the plugs and coils were fine from what i could see, no black gunk on the plugs means they were firing good and the coils were reading good on the volt meter. Now since it started popping i figured it was time to replace them but I have the problem where i only have enough to buy the parts and I have a cast on up to my elbow so i can't do much. I have no CAT so do i have to worry about it frying my engine and destroying my compression? i just got a new engine in august so that would blow. Also my one Racing beat oil line started leaking at the fitting a few weeks in and the oil light came on, i drove a few miles and it shut the oil light back off so after work i went and grabbed oil for it because luckily i work at a bodyshop and the one guy got in there and tightened it quick. What are your guys thoughts on this.

Sit back, relax and let the rest of us spell you for a while. Maybe take a hit of Tylenol.
Hock - the oil light indicates level. The gauge is pretty much a dummy, but it indicates oil pressure/no pressure like the idiot light on most other cars. If the gauge never dropped, then you should be OK on your oil adventure.
No idea what the popping noises you hear could be from. I suppose that without a cat your CEL is on all the time, so you won't get an alert about misfire. You might visit one of the outfits like Autozone that offers to read OBD codes for free, and see if there's any trouble info.

Is your CEL on? If not, you're probably OK to wait. If it's on (which I suspect because of no cat) get the codes read. (Freebie at Autozone and one of the major transmission places.) If there's no code related to a misfire, then you're probably OK.
Maybe someone with catless experience can pipe in with what the popping means.
