Spark plugs and coils

Hey everyone, I just got back from the dealer and it seems like i need to replace my plugs can coil packs. It's gonna set me back about $700.00 bucks My question is, anyway to maintain these so I don't have to go through this again next year? I only ask because I just replace them a bit over a year and Mazda said it's one month past my warranty I think this is stupid if it keeps being an issue.

Kind of odd they would go bad after a year. You should do it yourself and save some change What's the issue with the car, that the plugs and coils need changing again?

With a small amount of searching you can find the parts you need from vendors here under $200. Then do the work yourself and save on all the labor costs...take about an hr for someone with little mechanical skill to replace plugs and coil.

BTW mike, I've had coils and plugs go bad within a month before...most here usually change their coils and plugs every yr no matter what, I know I did when I was running stock coils.

You can change them yourself for around 180 plus shipping. And it is very simple to do

When you change the coils, remove the intake silencer rather than the whole intake box. It will take 1/3 the time, jack up the LF and remove tire to do spark plugs. Also buy yourself 3 long extensions, you will thank me later

Hi, does anyone know if there is a sequence numbering to the coils? CEL code indicates that there is failure at No. 4 Coil (something like that), and I dont know which is which. The one nearest to the windscreen is Coil No. 4?....
