Spark plugs or coils?

bare with me here. this might seem like a noobish question but my 8 is an 04 with around 36,000 miles and its about time i replace the plugs. do i also need to replace coils and wires as well? i don't see the maintenance interval for those two in the manual. also which is more in need of changing first, plugs or coils? im a bit tight on cash and will change the more important one first and change the rest at a later time.

if you can, get plugs and coils at the same time. They can be found for pretty cheap. Mazmart, com has some for a good buck.

Coils first, then plugs. Just be careful with the wires. New coils should help clear out the plugs. If you have an 04 with original coils, you might hold some kind of record. I got mine from Mazmart as suggested above. Some of the autoparts stores are carrying them with a life time warranty, that is hard to beat.

May I suggest? O'Reilly's have a two year warranty for the spark plugs and lifetime for the ignition coils. I forgot how much the coils were, I think $27.99 each and the plugs were $50 for all a set(two leading and two trailing). That was less than a year ago.

I bought the BHR set since I didn't want to keep buying coils around every 30k.

How often do you change the BHR sets then?

I went with those because I didn't have the money to buy the BHR Kit, unless you do, go with the kit as 'Syntheticdarkness' and 'RX8Soldier' have.

If you do the installation yourself, make sure you dont accidentally get the leading plugs mixed up with the trailing plugs and install them backwards... even with correct coil wiring and order.

Funny things may happen....
