Spec Clutch question

Spec Clutch question
My rx8 is at the dealer for the well known 2nd gear issue. I'm beginning to think the mechanic has no idea what he is doing. His first diagnosis was that the fluid was low. Then it was the flywheel, and now with a new flywheel they are telling me I have to get a new clutch. The clutch is a Spec lightweight that has only been in the car for about 7000 miles at most. Has anyone else had problems with Spec? I searched and have not found any cases, but wanted to be sure. I'm going to look at the clutch if it is out, and probably take the car somewhere else if the car is together.

U know what after havin my transmission broke down the syncro saver should help it because I had a shop tell me that it could be my Cluth and flywheel... Key word could be. This was a while back but I replaced my own clutch and it only had about 700miles on it didn't need a nother one what happens is that when u shift the shifter is over shifter cause the dog rings to wear out and the bearing to go bad. If u have money to spend on another clutch go crazy but I wouldn't spend a dime if it was me.

Well if it were the clutch itself, doesn't it make sense a grind would occur with other gears (maybe even only occasionally) as well?
Some of these gears can be pickier than others. Most guys, I've found through reading a lot here, have problems with the 2nd and 4th shifts.
Start simple. My 04 manual says GL4 or GL5 grade tranny oil 75-90. I had a crazy bad 4th gear grind as others have had for 2nd gear, or the same 4th gear or both. This was resolved with some good BF Goodrich Synchroshift II oil.
Yea, how could fluid make a difference...its a mechanical metalz to metalz sound...thats what I though at first, not anymore. Try some good GL4 only, get any hybrid GL4/5 stuff out of your car. If that doesn't work as it did for me, then think more for mechanical solutions.

Lol, didn't want to says something like that at the expense of sounding like an online idiot who thinks he knows things.
I, unlike Mr. Charles Hill, do not have worthy enough merit to preach reasons over whys or hows.
But CRH is one of the main reasons I decided on my stage 1 spec. Also, the clutch bracket is definitely known as a grinding culprit. I just thought to start simple first.
Try it out, I've heard Redline is a good GL4 only fluid as well. BF Goodrich can get pricey...
