you have somehow done that Jeff- but how can you say there is no skin to skin contact in the current avatar- clearly their hands are on each others breasts- not that there is anything wrong with that.

their is no fuse to pull. get a flash or get to pulling the wheel sensors.

my understanding is that the Japanese folks like Amemiya who CAN flash, make you come to them for it. I dont think you can just mail it in. worth checking tho.

Hello,

I can't really comment on a method to delete the speed limiter on your vehicle Brettus, other than the methods already mentioned. Regarding gear oil smell, I didn't have any on the first change ~ 7000 miles, but on the 2nd change ~ 19000 (after flywheel install), I now have the gear smell

Oh and regarding MM's avatars, they have the side effect of encouraging me to leave for some private time to release some...stress. Which I suppose is a good thing

Heh,
Edgardo

I dont recall 4rth but I know 5th very well...152mph (Probably minus 2 cause the spedo is off)

Never doing that again without some more downforce...Talking about floaty

Hey there,

I think the best way would be to get a Speed Limit Defence (SLD) from HKS, RE Amemiya or any other reputed manufacturer. My friend has a HKS SLD for his Celica and it works beautifully. If you're worried about importing parts from Japan I use this company; http://www.j-garage.com/ to import parts for my RX8. They are very informative and know their stuff.

So far I've purchased the TRUST Pulley Kit, RE Amemiya Intake Box & R Magic Headlight Eyeliner from them. No complaints.

Anyway, good luck.

just an update on this . I figured out how to disable the speed limiter . You just disconnect the plugs on the rear wheel speed sensors . Unfortunately it has the following effects :
Power steering defaults to high speed mode
Traction control does not work
Antilock braking system does not work .

Apart from that it is just fine & dandy NOT

That also disables the speedometer if I am not mistaken.

No luck with the HKS speed delimiter?

Oh yes - that too

was trying to find away to avoid the $500 . Only need it for the track & I'd rather spend that elsewhere .....
The only real problem with above solution would be the loss of ABS - I could handle the other issues .

Well I did it .
I Went to the track & disconected the rear wheel sensors . I found the car quite drivable actually & I got to find out how fast I could get to down the back straight - right to fuel cut in 4th gear approx 130 mph .
This would all have been fine but for two things - braking is severely worsened from that speed and I went off the track into the kitty litter . Then when I was coming into the pits I noticed a thump thump noise . Upon closer inspection I've found one of my tyres has a flat spot
So I in hindsight - I would strongly recommend not to "try this at home" !

1 New tyre = $380
1 speed limit defeat = $520

520-380= $140 for the SLD hmmm sounds cheap now

that has to be your best mod... i cant wonder how painful it would to be cut on a racetrack, much less a road.
