Stabilizer Links

Stabilizer Links
Had the 8 in for service a couple of weeks ago. The dealership noted that the stabilizer links are worn (47,000 miles) and should be replaced. Quote was close to $600 fro front & rear. The parts are available on line for less than $100 total. It looks like a pretty simple unbolt then bolt in instalation. Am I missing something? Another question...the car is lowered. Are the adjustable links such as these worth using, or should I stick with stock parts? http://www.evo-r.net/product/RX-8/LINK/ Thanks!

WOW......
They saw you coming...no wonder dealers get a reputation for gouging people
I assume you are talking about the sway bar end links....
They are an easy DIY if you can get them undone easily...so soak them in penetrating oil a couple of days ahead of when you want to remove them.....and make sure you are careful with the hex key so they don't get stripped...or you will need to do it the hard way.....often they come off with a good hit from an impact gun as well....
The best part is you can mangle them if you have to cause they are garbage anyway...
Make sure you put a good coat of never seize on them for future re/re

Thanks. I'm not sure if the proper term is sway bar end links. The dealer quote says front & rear stabilizer links. I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum. My car is an 04. I suppose for this issue the general info is the same though.
