stalling, doesn't start ... HELP!

Hi,

I had an issue with my car called AA they scan my car came up as coil failure, towed the car to my friend house,
went to MAZDA dealer, my intention were purchasing 4 coils, but the parts person said you only need 2 not all has fail.. save a bit of extra cash.

Next day - installed it along with spark plugs car started fine! no more rough shaky loss of power sound and symptoms... once 40sec into drive the car didn't stall but the idle needle were jumpy from 800 to 900 RPM.
2 mins into driving turned a corner put my foot on the brake and guess what THE CAR STALL AGAIN... starts up only if i give it gas (gas peddle) the CEL back on again!..

what should i do?

- Buy 2 more coils from the dealer, install it restart the ecu and pray the car wont stall?
- Buy a set of leads/wires install those and pray the car wont stall?
- Buy 2 coils + new wire/leads installed them pray the car wont stall?
- call AA diagnose the car computer again see what it pops up with?

It was a mission driving back home hoping that i don't need to stop at the lights or give way to oncoming cars.

What a saga this has turn into..

I'd get the code read again. Autozone does it for free, but probably just call AAA if you have that service then you won't have to drive the care there. The reason that I say get the code read again is that it could be something totally different than a coil problem, but it could be the other two coils. Any more info on the car would be helpful, miles, aftermarket parts, etc.

a good habit to take up is to change all plugs AND coils at the same time.
You may even want to check your cat converter. Could be damaged/ clogged.

My car is stock no mods, it's done 31,000 miles.
I think I have fix the problem... I cleaned the Maf and the butterfly cars starts and doesn't stall but havnt driven it for long enough to see if the problem has been fixed.

Mazda parts department said to me there's no ways all 4 coils is dead buy 2 and see it goes. How do I check if my cat converter? Is it easy to unclogged?

Did you put the new ignition coils in the lead ignition points on the car. 1 and 3 i believe. I had a problem with mine a few weeks back and ordered a set through AutoZone and BladeCutter helped me install them. I only put two new ones in since i only had one bad one. Put the new ones in the lead ignition for each rotor and the old ones in the secondary ignition for each rotor and all is good.

Yeah! It's all sorted now, cleaned MAF and changed the leading plugs but the CEL is still on! How do I restart the CEL to tell that I have change the coils? Disconnecting the battery?

Disconnecting the battery will do it, or autozone/aaa should be able to reset the codes when they check them.
