strange noise...Cricket

yes thats right it sounds like a cricket or a loose belt.... as everyone knows of the whir that comes when the clutch is released, what do you all think of this... it happens when the clutch is released ALL the way, if i barely touch the clutch it goes away.

went to mazda and was told that it is actually ok just annoying, then they said it is unfixable thinking that they were just trying to get out of warrenty work I said can I pay for it to be fixed then, I got an answer of NO i asked if mazda was ok with having one of their cars on the road that sounded like this, becasue there is no way in hell I would be impressed with this noise. he said I should write a letter to mazda.

i walked away, getting no where.

any ideas?

I sometimes have the same noise. A metal cricket noise / squeek.

I figured it was a warn throw out bearing. But I was thinking of taking it to Mazda to check, but since it's not alway there...

If I notice it happening I will keep on the clutch in a red lights. It makes the car sound like a cheap POS that's about to fall apart.

bringing the thread back from the dead.

wow i must say i have the exact same sound when letting the clutch out. yes, barely touch it and it goes away. its such an annoying sound. i took the car in last week and they told me there was no way to fix it. i myself thought it was the throw out bearing too. I thought i was the only one!

I too have this problem, but only in the morning when I'm backing out of the driveway. It sounds to me like a belt slipping.

I have the same noise, and also am having a harder (and harder) time shifting from first to second.

Sounds like I have a good idea where to start with at the dealership. Thank heavans my powertrain coverage was upped to 60,000 miles or else I'd be screwed.
