Strange sound under gearshifter??

Recently I have been noticing a sound coming from underneath the gearshift. It sounds like water is running or something. Like if you barely turned on the facet in the bathroom. I have no idea what is it, its not the sound you here on the RX-8 when the clutch is out... I know that is normal but when I am just cruising at like low rpm you can hear it very well. My car has 65k miles so I am wondering if I need to change out something...

Anybody else have this problem or know if it is normal or what I can do about it?

Thanks in advance.

Check the clutch free travel and release bearing.

I really hope it has nothing to do with the clutch. I have had problems with the dealership and my clutch. But I will check....

anybody have any suggestions, kinda wanna tag down a few things to check out.

Maybe it's air in the cooling system and the sound just seems to be coming from that location when it is actually coming from the heater core under the dash. Just a thought.
